The Côte de Beaune

The Côte de Beaune begins near Ladoix. The area incorporates Beaune and the famous villages of Volnay, Meursault, Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet. The southernmost commune is Santenay.

The wine produces in the Côte de Beaune is both white and red with the most profound white wines centred on vineyards around Puligny-Montrachet and Chassagne-Montrachet.

There are 8 Grand Crus in the Côte de Beaune. Corton Grand Cru is the only red wine, the other Grand Cru wines are all white which include:

  • Corton-Charlemagne
  • Montrachet
  • Bâtard-Montrachet
  • Bienvenues- Bâtard-Montrachet
