The wine has a pale yellow colour with gold reflections. It has an intense nose with citrus fruits overtone with some floral and mineral underlying nuances. It shows a hint of bottle age. After a round and rich first taste with a predominant aroma of peels of grapefruit, it has an impressive development with a good body and a lively and tightened acidity which has the last word and brings a very pure finish strengthened by a nice minerality.
This is a complex Riesling, exemplary of great Riesling on granite soils. This is a wonderful example of Riesling with a great concentration of flavour with pure and elegant acidity.
This wine comes from a single plot (“Zingler”) within the lieu-dit “Linsenberg” that overlooks the village of Wihr. The vines are 50 years old, the oldest in Linsenberg. It has been vinified with the greatest care to bring out the inherent character of the grapes.
The wine has a bright straw yellow colour. It has an attractive bouquet with lemon and lime aromas and a hint of minerality. On the palate, there is a fine balance between the acidity and the fruit and, again, a hint of minerality. The finish is long and satisfying. This is very dry, pure and elegant Alsace Riesling that is a joy to drink now but will develop over the next 8 to 10 years.
